Art 4 Refugees Raffle @ A4 Sounds

This weekend A4 Sounds on St. Joseph’s Parade (just off Dorset Street) plays host to Art 4 Refugees, an exhibition and auction designed to raise funds for the ongoing refugee crisis. All proceeds from the weekend long event are being donated to Global Giving’s Syrian Refugee Relief Fund. The exhibition opens tonight at 7pm with a raffle, jam packed with prizes, taking place. The show will then be open to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 8pm, with proceedings culminating in an auction on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. Included in tonight’s raffle are a host of goodie bags from A4 Sounds themselves along with limited edition vinyls and albums from local musicians, tickets for the Viking Splash tours & Lighthouse Cinema as well as a pair of works from Sunday’s auction – giving everyone a chance to walk home with a piece of artwork.

A host of Irish and international animators and illustrators have donated works to this wonderful cause including Aidan McAteer, Patrick Semple and Eoin Whelehan. A particular highlight is the donation by American born, Dublin based director, animator and illustrator Kristina Yee. Yee donated a fully functioning puppet from her award winning short film Miss Tood, as well as a copy of the children’s book of the same name which is not available in Ireland yet. If you can’t make it down this evening or over the weekend you can still donate to this wonderful event here, and if you do make it down make sure to splash the cash on some beautiful artwork in aid of a great cause.
